THE OPENING CEREMONY OF THE EXHIBITIONS TO CELEBRATE VIETNAMESE CULTURAL HERITAGE DAY (NOVEMBER 23, 2005 - NOVEMBER 23, 2023)
On the afternoon of November 21, 2023, the opening ceremony of exhibitions to honour the 18th anniversary of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23, 2005 - November 23, 2023) took place at Hanoi Museum. Exhibitions included Giang Vo military school and Le Dynasty weapon collection, the essence of Vietnamese craft villages through the perspective of contemporary interior design and the history of the formation of the earth through fossil collection. Attending the ceremony were Associate Professor, Dr. Do Van Tru - Chairman of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association; Dr. Nguyen Van Doan - Director of Vietnam National Museum of History; Dr. Nguyen Anh Minh - Director of Vietnam National Fine Arts Museum; Professor Academician Ngo Xuan Binh and Representatives of leaders of departments of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports. Representatives of the units coordinating the exhibitions include: Ms. Truong Le Quynh Phuong - representative of Hanoi Fossil Museum; Designer Luu Viet Thang - representative of Vietnam Furniture Student Forum, artisans from craft villages, representatives of universities and reporters. Organizers from Hanoi Museum include: Mr. Nguyen Tien Da - Director, Mr. Dang Minh Ve - Deputy Director and the staff and employees of Hanoi Museum.

The exhibition “Giang Vo military school and Le Dynasty weapon collection”, with more than 200 documents and artifacts on display, has as the highlight the Ngoc Khanh weapon collection. It consists of 111 artifacts recognised by the Prime Minister as a National Treasure in Decision No. 41/QD-TTg dated January 30, 2023. This is a complete collection with all types of cold and fire weapons dating from the 15th - 18th centuries currently preserved at Hanoi Museum.

The essence of Vietnamese craft villages through the perspective of contemporary interior design” exhibition aims to honor Hanoi's traditional craft villages, connect tourism and trade, and promote creative design activities. This exhibition is organised by Hanoi Museum in collaboration with Vietnam Furniture Student Forum to introduce 10 typical craft villages representing over 1,350 traditional craft villages of Hanoi, presented through the creative design perspective of students from nine universities in Vietnam and one university from Thailand.
Delegates visited the exhibition “The essence of Vietnamese craft villages through the perspective of contemporary interior design”.
The exhibition “The history of the formation of the earth through fossil collection” is organised by Hanoi Museum in collaboration with Hanoi Fossil Museum. The display introduces nearly 1,200 documents and artifacts, presented with the intersection of science, history, nature and art. We can enjoy the exhibition through films, works of art, paintings and especially fossil specimens dating back hundreds of millions of years. In addition, the display also has a 3D Mapping projection space depicting the history of the formation of the Earth using 3D virtual reality technology that is vivid and attractive to viewers.

These activities are also part of the series of activities of the Hanoi Creative Design Festival in 2023. Hanoi's becoming a member UNESCO Creative Cities Network was a step for the city to establish its brand, popularise its image in all fields of cultural creation, and join the group of global cities with innovation-oriented development that matches the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tien Da - Director of Hanoi Museum confirmed "By organizing these exhibitions, Hanoi Museum not only demonstrates its role as a cultural creative space, typical of Hanoi, but also realizing the commitments and initiatives of Hanoi City, bringing creative activities into all aspects of life".
